More stuff to do at the ranch

June 12, 2011

hey, the round pen is up and available for use. Works well with dogs too.

Gotta love the storms.

June 9, 2011

The barn made it through that amazing storm. Lots of broken trees and limbs, with a couple on the fence, but nothing that can’t be fixed quickly and easily. The paddocks are happily filled with horseys.
Unfortunately, the porta potty didn’t make it. It was tipped over by a branch. Anyone want to clean it?

Luckily, I wasn’t in it when it tipped over.
Pictures when we get some sunlight.

Hey!

June 6, 2011

It was a beautiful day to put up hay. And a many “THANK YOUS!” to all of you who helped us put up 700 bales of hay today.

Going out for a trail ride?

Riding

May 23, 2011

I can’t believe that I rode a horse. A smile and a “its my birthday today, do you want to go for a trail ride?” I was thinking bike and was like “sweet! Love to!”
Course, Jenny was thinking “horse.”
Not on the top of my mind, but it was for the next hour or so.
She got out Colby, thinking that I needed someone less spirited to ride. I wasn’t worried, I had my special hat – the hat that imbues the wearing with amazing John Wayne like cowboy skills. It worked, as I didn’t fall off.
You would think that my butt wouldn’t be sore with the biking that I do, but it does. I whined the whole ride.

It was fun though.

Beautiful weekend, even with the threat of rain.

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Happy Birthday Steph!

We were going to decorate your horse, but he was muddy. And he ate the decorations.

Cheers!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Laura!  Glad to see you riding again!

Horsefair

April 19, 2011

Raining in April?  How can that be?  Ellen persevered and braved the cold wind and – gasp – snow.  Tony was wet.

Everything was wet.

Sigh.  Why is horsefair always cold?

Snow in April?

April 19, 2011

Uh, yeah.   Its cold, but horses love the cold, right?  Just like polar bears?

It feels like I never left the UP.
